Dimmit by Tronix: Your all-in-one App for smart lighting!
We’ve recently launched a new product. It’s not a lamp, LED cord or dimmer... It’s an app. We’ve called this new addition to the Tronix family ‘Dimmit’. It's an all-in-one app you use to control all your smart lighting, dimmers and other smart products.
Dimmit is an open app. That means you can connect it to all your existing smart lighting, including products that you didn’t buy from us. This was the only way that made sense to us, in this day and age. Do you have lights from brands like Philips Hue, HEMA and CALEX? They’ll be best friends with Dimmit in no time.
App users don’t need long to discover that the possibilities are enormous. Changing the color of your lighting? Accurate dimming? Setting Scenes? These features are pretty standard nowadays. That’s why Dimmit does more. You can link events to actions. Do you want your outdoor lights to switch on an hour before sunset every day? What about having the light color in your living room change as soon as outdoor temperatures start to drop? Or having your lights switched on automatically while you’re on holiday? You name it, Dimmit does it.
Dimmit is linked to Tuya
Now for the tech behind it all. When we launch a new Tronix product, we want to make sure it’s top notch. That's why we use the Tuya platform, which is the same platform that the world’s biggest brands use. For readers who can’t quite follow: Tuya is an Internet-of-Things platform that provides perfect software and hardware for innovative entrepreneurs.
You may be wondering: where's the catch? The commercial angle? The revenue model? Good news: there isn’t one. Our only goal with Dimmit is to get more users to enjoy light even more. That’s why the app also has an information/inspiration section with the latest news on all things light. Whether you’re a customer or end user - you’ll always be up to date.
In the headline, we mentioned how young people are the future. Apart from being a reference to Dimmit, we were also talking about our Light Specialist Maikel Rutten, who spearheaded this app. Maikel (22) laid the groundwork for the Dimmit launch during his final-year project for Commercial Economics. For you, the users, we have one big question: can Maikel rightfully call himself a light pioneer with Dimmit? We'd love to hear from you!
