How to recognise professional Christmas lights (5 key features)

Christmas lights are an absolute favorite for lots of our customers. And who can blame them? They are a great way to turn any shopping centre, restaurant, bar or tree into a winter wonderland. We, too, love Christmas lights. More specifically, we love professional Christmas lights that are well made, safe, and properly installed. But how can you tell the good from the bad? Here are five key features of professional Christmas lighting.

Just a quick note: more and more people prefer the name winter lights over Christmas lights. And why not? Especially when you consider that lighting is becoming increasingly seasonal and doesn’t have to be linked to a specific holiday or event.

Ideally speaking, professional Christmas/winter lights should have a few defining features. Here are the five most important ones:

1. High-quality materials
Winter lights are often used for multiple seasons and spend a lot of time outdoors. That’s why we prefer products made from high-quality materials, like the rubber we use for the wiring and structural components. It’s strong and super flexible, which means it stays flexible at low temperatures and in harsh weather.

2. Consistency
We can’t think of anything more distracting than variations in light output or color when you’re expanding or adding to your winter lighting. Our modular system is specifically designed to guarantee consistency. Add new items next year? Or combine a rope light with icicle lights? Our lights guarantee consistent brightness and color.

3. Safe system
When deciding on voltage, it’s best to look at how you plan to use your lights. For example, 230-volt lighting is ideal for larger systems with multiple LEDs, such as on facades or for multiple, connected properties. Our 24 and 36-volt systems, on the other hand, are perfect when safety is important, e.g. in public locations or as tree lighting.

4. Always in stock
Gone are the days of knowing exactly which professional winter lights you’ll need 6 months in advance. In our generous stock, you’ll always find exactly what you need for your project. Even if you’re taking on an extra last-minute project, you'll find everything you need for a professional Christmas lighting design.

5. Advice and clarity
How many LEDs can you connect to a single power unit? Which lights can be switched on and off or even dimmed? And how can you get your professional Christmas lights to dynamically grow along with a tree, for example? We’ve got all the answers and we’re here to help. You can count on easy to use, transparent professional Christmas lighting. Take our 230-volt system, for example. Every single version comes with one white and one black wire and the same recognisable light colors.

Invest and enjoy

So do professional Christmas or winter lights have any drawbacks at all? We can’t think of any! Obviously, professional lighting does not always come cheap, you get what you pay for: high-quality, durable, safe, robust and reliable lights. And, of course, a light design that you (or your customer) will enjoy for years to come.
