At the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, quality is woven into every aspect of their operations. Naturally, this extends to the façade lighting, which must exude exclusivity and flawless craftsmanship. Recently, Lumineus Outdoor Lighting provided the hotel’s exterior with a remarkable transformation.

“The traditional holiday lighting had been in place for decades,” explains Jaap Knetsch of Lumineus. “It was time for an upgrade. But illuminating a complex building façade is no easy task. The building’s height exceeds what the average aerial lift can handle, not to mention the trees, benches, and other obstacles in the way. Working in the heart of Amsterdam demands a creative solution.”

Lumineus opted for curtain-style lighting installations on the exterior, with the largest curtain spanning 25 meters. “We’ve installed seven large curtains and two smaller ones in total. From autumn onwards, the entire façade glows with a beautiful, elegant, and warm white light throughout the evening and night. Then, come January, we roll it all up, ready for the next season.”

“We’ve been partnering with Tronix for years,” Jaap continues. “The biggest benefit? The lighting quality is more stable than ever. That’s crucial, as we aim for a clean, uniform lighting effect, even when expanding the number of fixtures. And, of course, minimal repairs are a must. As for the Marriott’s response?
